Packaging Design Vancouver is branding, logo, label and packaging design creative collective - multidisciplinary design think tank in a broader sense, that can help you visualize ideas and convert them to reality. In order to accomplish this, we rely on extensive creative design experience, consumer behavior research, unique content creation and most valued long term partnerships within label regulatory and printing domains. We work primarily with the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries and if your product doesn’t belong there, our expertise will still allow us to help you.

Let’s talk about your project…

Our Process

Every project we take on starts with an initial project briefing. We prefer talking in person, however if that is not an option, a phone call would do just fine. Once we are familiar with your particular needs, we take a bit of time in order to get to know where your product fits, who your peers are, and to define what amount of work would be necessary to complete your project. Then, you are presented with a proposal that lists deliverables, a predicted timeline and the final estimate. If both parties agree, once the proposal is accepted and the first payment has gone through, we are in business.

Market Research

Whatever you do, the chance is that you will be adding one more product to an already existing market, which makes the initial market research even more relevant. That’s why, before we even start thinking about design, we do preliminary research and then share the results of that process with you. It is very possible that what you see might influence your product greatly in terms of the basic concept, naming, design, printing, marketing and sales. So, we don’t work just on the design of your product – we partner with you in every aspect of your journey, if that is OK with you.

Content Creation

The highest quality content is crucial, both inside and outside of the container that will bear the label we design for you. It is taken for granted that what you bring to the table inside that bottle or can is of extraordinary quality, that you take a full legal responsibility for it, and that you strongly believe in your product. And that is where, for most clients, the ability to generate content for their product ends. Wine people make wine and they don’t have time to write about it. And that is a huge bottleneck for successful product launch or marketing campaign – lack of good content. We can help you with that. We can take care not only about the information that should be on your label or packaging but about every single piece of marketing material that comes with it.

Design Process

Our design expertise ranges from designing a company (or product) logo to providing you with social media posts and everything in between (product naming, label design, packaging design, leaflet design, product signage design, 3D renderings, photography, video, video editing, motion graphics, etc.). We understand the importance of content (both visual and textual), we draw, we cherish a good type, we love photography, we use regulatory constraints as challenges to reckon with, we are not afraid of white space, we love what we do, we are proud of our work, and we want you to share that pride with us once your product is labeled and/or packaged and ready to start a life on its own.

A 5 Second Rule

National market research studies show that the average time a consumer spends in front of a shelf in a supermarket deciding between two products is 5 seconds. 5 seconds! To qualify for those 5 seconds your product should come as close to perfect as possible in every way – visually, textually and regulatory wise, and it should stand out among the rest of the products in its category. Information, simplicity, contrast, style, and point of distinction.

One Mississippi…

Food and Beverage Label Regulations

If you are in the food and beverage industry you are already very well aware of strict regulations that might influence look and feel of every label that covers food and beverage products. In addition to that, label design and packaging design is limited by its physical boundaries – it is usually a very confined space with the abundant amount of information on it. To make the challenge even greater, in Canada we need that information in both English and French. Hence, there is a very fine balance to be achieved between attractive design and the content that law requires. In order to make every label or packaging comply with those regulations we work closely with best national Food and Beverage Authority Agency representatives available, and only after their approval does your label/packaging go to printing.

Artwork Presentation

We present our work using CGI photorealistic renderings. That way you can see what your product might look like from the beginning of our design process, and based on that you can make necessary changes. In addition to that you can start using our renderings for marketing purposes, even before you have your labels or packaging printed.

Printing

You can have a great idea, an extraordinary product, unique and sophisticated label and packaging design and the best marketing team ever, but none of that really matters much if you don’t have the right printer to finish the job. Printing is crucial. The ultimate choice of technology (digital or offset, or even something completely different), printing process itself, paper stock (or any other stock), finishing, scoring, folding, gluing, or printing directly on your bottle or a can is the ultimate step in your branding process that makes that final mark. BTW, printers are really special people, very proud of their craft. We work with them every day, we appreciate their pursuit of perfection and we are ready to introduce them to you.

Marketing Material
& Social Media Deliverables

We do labels and packaging but, by the end of every project, we generate tons of extremely useful material and, as a consequence, it becomes obvious that the most natural next step is to use that material for other purposes as well. We can provide you with everything you might need to start your marketing campaign, both in print (magazine ads, leaflets, catalogues, posters, POS displays, trade show booths, banners, etc.) and on social media.

We are one stop shop for your design and marketing needs.

Timely Delivery

We take time very seriously as we believe that’s the only real currency, and we pride ourselves on delivering our work on time and within the budget you have approved. Once we start working with you, the timer is on, and we make sure that we get everything from your side (or other third party) that we need on time in order to finish the work as initially envisioned. It is almost like the United Parcel Service - you remember the beginning of the “Cast Away” movie, when Tom Hanks talks about timely delivery? Oh well, something like it.

Pricing

In most cases, our estimates are on “per project” basis and there are no additional fees for extra hours we spend on your product. We understand that the unavoidable meaningful edits are part of everyday life and design projects are not any different. So we take that into account, and based on experience we include the necessary inevitable time requirement when finalizing our proposal. However, we do everything we can to maximize your time management and our resources and that’s why we, believing in crucial importance of solid foundations, start every new project with a thorough briefing. Based on it, we come up with the adequate personalized estimate.

Ask us about our Creative Hours Plans

Being a full scale creative agency, which excels but is not limited to Label and Packaging design, we offer our clients additional ways to hire us, in particular in time management and fees. Apart from working on a “per project” basis, we offer several plans based on individual creative hours that we dedicate to you.

It is like having your own external design department, on call.

Awards and Case Studies

To brag about the establishment awards – no, it’s not in our DNA. For us, the most important award is the fact that we have been in business for more than 25 years working on numerous projects all over the world delivering products that make a difference to our clients/partners and to us. What really matters are relationships that started because someone somewhere sometime had an idea. And then, those business relationships became everlasting friendships. It is a funny thing – how that most expensive vodka from the liqueur store never tastes as good as a locally made one we did the label for… Or locally crafted beer… Or a bottle of wine from a small winery in the Okanagan… Or that iced tea with vodka on which label we are working right now…

It’s priceless...
